DC PLUG Announces the Completion of Feeder 308 – July 30, 2021
The DC PLUG team announces the completion of Feeder 308 in Ward 3. Resiliency and reliability improved by 95% against major storm related outages for about 595 customers. The team is proud to report that 100% Certified Business Enterprises (CBEs) were used for the civil and electrical work. Click the video below to review the announcement.
DC PLUG Groundbreaking – June 14, 2020
We participated in the DC PLUG Project groundbreaking ceremony hosted by D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser. The event included remarks from Pepco Holdings President and CEO Dave Velazquez, Councilmember Vincent Gray, Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie, and former District Department of Transportation Director Jeff Marootian. The Public Service Commission and the Office of the People’s Counsel also attended the event.
District of Columbia Power Line Undergrounding (DC PLUG) Initiative
The District of Columbia Power Line Undergrounding (or DC PLUG) initiative is a joint project between the District and Pepco to underground primary distribution power lines. Frequency and duration of outages are expected to be reduced by 95 percent on lines placed underground, helping improve reliability day to day and during severe weather.
